On May 14, 2025, Kyiv hosted an extremely important Forum – “Voices of Ukrainian women and youth for sustainable peace in Ukraine”, organized jointly by the UN Office in Ukraine, UNDP Ukraine, UNICEF, UN Women Ukraine, the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.
The event brought together high-level officials, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, academics, civil society activists and opinion leaders to discuss the role of women and youth in building sustainable peace in Ukraine.

The Association of Ukrainian Ambassadors was represented at this event not only as participants, but also as active voices of women’s civil society implementing large-scale projects to develop women’s leadership and increase women’s participation in decision-making.
The Head of the Association, Olga Veselovska, took part in the third panel discussion “From crisis to opportunity: inclusive post-war Ukraine”. She emphasized the importance of involving women, in particular internally displaced persons, in the processes of restoring the country, building a peaceful and inclusive society, and shared the experience of implementing the Association’s initiatives that support women in communities affected by war.
The participation of the Ambassadors in such a large-scale international forum is a confirmation of the important role of civil society initiatives in shaping the policy of the future, where women are not only beneficiaries but also active creators of peace, security and development.
Peace in Ukraine is not just a ceasefire, but a deep, inclusive and sustainable process in which the voices of every woman and every young person must be heard. And it is platforms like this forum that help make those voices heard.
