Theory of change
When women and girls, including those from vulnerable groups, are economically empowered—namely, in a supportive environment, have an opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills, are financially independent—employed or engaged in entrepreneurial activities—and receive and control economic benefits, then structural changes in the social, economic, and institutional systems in which women operate will become sustainable, ensuring the removal of barriers for future generations and the well-being of the nation as a whole.
