Meeting within the framework of the project “Cities and communities free from domestic violence”

This week, with the aim of strengthening interagency cooperation and ensuring the sustainable functioning of the system for preventing and combating domestic violence in the communities of Sumy and Vinnytsia, meetings of the expanded Coordination Councils on combating domestic violence were held.
The meetings were held as part of the project “Cities and Communities Free from Domestic Violence.” During the discussion, participants focused on expanding community residents’ access to specialized services, issues of financing the Program for the Prevention and Counteraction of Domestic Violence and/or Gender-Based Violence for 2025-2027, as well as the dissemination of best practices.
Separate presentations were made on the state of domestic violence in urban communities and the results of measures taken as part of the annual nationwide campaign “16 Days Against Violence.” Participants emphasized the importance of coordinated work by all services and agencies to achieve positive and sustainable change.
Following the meetings, the members of the Coordination Councils identified key priorities for the next period aimed at improving the effectiveness of the municipal response system to cases of domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence. Protocol decisions were also adopted on further improving local mechanisms for interaction, ensuring sustainable support for victims, and strengthening preventive work.
