A career without borders for women in Ukraine

🖥In recent years, there have been enormous changes in both the context and content of careers. Traditionally, a career was viewed as a linear sequence of job responsibilities in one or more organizations within a single, specific industry.
📈The concept of a career is mostly associated with advancement, progress, and promotion. But in a broader sense, a career refers to the work a person does over a period of time during their life. A career is what a person considers meaningful and valuable in relation to their life as a whole.
‼️Currently, women continue to choose professions that do not fully utilize their abilities and often do not correspond to their initial career goals. Sometimes a young woman wants to study a profession that is different from the conventionally traditional female one, but due to widespread gender stereotypes and gender roles, which are decisive obstacles and limit her freedom in making career decisions, she chooses conventionally “female” professions. This may not always be her true career aspiration and may lead to choosing a field that does not match her real potential.
The ability to adapt quickly to change and see new professional opportunities is key to a successful career in today’s world. It’s impossible to respond well if you don’t have the basic skills, abilities, or tools to use when the chance comes up.
ℹ️This year, the State Employment Service of Ukraine launched a project to train women in traditionally “male” professions. The essence of this service is that, at the request of an employer, the Employment Service searches for and sends candidates for training, and after training, the employer hires the woman in the profession she has acquired.
It is important to note that employment after training is mandatory for women and guaranteed by the employer. The Employment Center pays for the training. The cost of training is UAH 30,200. If the price of training is higher, the difference can be paid by the employer or the project participant. The maximum duration of such education is 10 months. If you have any additional questions, you can contact your nearest employment center or call the contact center specialists at the toll-free number 1518.

A modern career is not about “once and for all” and not about stereotypes. It is about choice, development, and realizing your own potential. And today, women in Ukraine have more opportunities than ever before.
After investing in your career for a certain amount of time, small actions can lead
    to unexpectedly big results!
🖇The project “Women’s Participation in the Labor Market: Personalized and Gender-Oriented Employment Services” is being implemented by the NGO “Association of Women Ambassadors of Ukraine” with the financial support of the European Union, Germany, Poland, Estonia, and Denmark as part of the Skills4Recovery Multi-Donor Initiative, which is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Solidarity Fund PL (SFPL).
